A sign describing how the tamarack tree is one of the oldest living species. Along the City Camp Nature Trail in McAdam (Lower Saint John River Valley Region).

The description for the image is entirely incorrect.
The sign "states" that it is one of the oldest living species in the world.
There is no "describing" of how it is the oldest living species at all on that sign.
It would be fascinating to learn how it became the oldest living species.
But then you wold have to nail a lot more signs to the poor old tree. ;-)
    Have a good day.
